Prof. Hector S.O. Chan, Professor of the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS), and Dr. Isabel S.S. Hwang, Senior Lecturer of the Teaching and Learning (T&L) Unit of SBS, participated in the Medical Education Conference 2017 – “Modern Trends in Medical Education” organized by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine on 27 May 2017.  In the Conference, Dr. Hwang gave a talk on “Flipped Classroom with Micromodules” and shared experiences in applying eLearning in medical education with participants. 

On 22 June 2017, Dr. Hwang was invited to the Undergraduate Programme Retreat organized by The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care (SPHPC), Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).  As one of the invited speakers, Dr. Hwang hosted a sharing session on the topic “A Teacher Experience: How Blended Learning and Flipped Classroom can be Facilitated with Various E-Learning Tools”, and discussed with participants on using e-learning tools to facilitate teaching and learning for both medical and non-medical programmes.

Through members’ ongoing efforts in sharing and promoting innovative pedagogies, it is hoped that the students’ learning experience and overall teaching quality can be continually enhanced, and at the same time, the CUHK’s strategic goal in education (i.e. To adopt innovative pedagogies for continuous teaching enhancement) can be effectively supported.
