The School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) Research Day 2018 was successfully held on 17 and 18 May 2018 at the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building. As an annual flagship event of SBS, it continued to attract over 200 participants to attend.

The event was officiated by Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of SBS. In order to promote scientific interactions and collaborative relationship outside Hong Kong, we were honored to have Prof. Toshikazu Ushijima from National Cancer Center Research Institute, Japan, Prof. Gareth Sullivan from the University of Oslo, Norway, and Prof. Raymond C.C. Chang from the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, as plenary speakers in the Research Day.

Similar to previous years, this annual event continued to offer an excellent opportunity to our School members to showcase their latest research findings and to interact with our thematic associate members from clinical departments and colleagues from other departments of CUHK, and guests from other local tertiary institutions. It is our hope that academic linkage and a communication channel for scientific research can be continually strengthened through this Research Day, and to foster more research collaborations between our faculty members and various stakeholders in the related fields of biomedical research. We sincerely thank all the participants and also the sponsoring companies for their enthusiastic support to make this event another year of success.
