Ms. Sophie Liu Sisi, Year 2 Ph.D. student currently participating in the CUHK-NIH Graduate Partnerships Program, own the NIH Graduate Student Research Award during the 9th NIH Graduate Student Symposium held on 16 January 2013. Ms. Liu has joined in the Partnerships Program since 2011-2012. She is now studying in the Laboratory of Endocrinology and Genetics, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). Her current mentors at CUHK and NIH are Prof. Chan Wai-yee and Prof. Constantine Stratakis, respectively.

The CUHK-NIH Graduate Partnerships Program of our School aims at providing our postgraduate students with frontier research training opportunities and widening their global perspectives. Participating students will be benefited from working with renowned scientists at NIH for about 3 years.

Besides, Prof. Owen M. Rennert, Chairman of our School's Scientific Advisory Committee, was awarded the Outstanding Mentor Award of NIH. Prof. Rennert is now the mentor of another student taking part in the Partnerships Program.

We sincerely congratulate Ms. Liu and Prof. Rennert on their achievements and wish them continued success in research endeavors in the years to come.
