As an annual event to mark the official commencement of the new academic year and welcome the newly admitted students of the BSc in Biomedical Sciences Programme, the BSc Programme Team of the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) organized the Inauguration Ceremony for Academic Year 2020/21 on 7 September 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ceremony this year was conducted in virtual format, and well attended by 92 undergraduate students and 30 academic staff of the School.

Prof. Andrew M. Chan, Director of SBS first delivered a welcome speech, followed by an introduction of the Undergraduate Biomedical Sciences Mentorship Scheme by Dr. Ann S.N. Lau, Programme Director of BSc in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Lau also introduced the freshmen to the School members, including the Academic Mentors and Personal Development Mentors under the Mentorship Scheme. After the Ceremony, all freshmen were arranged to meet and further interact with their mentors in the breakout rooms. We warmly welcome all new students for joining the big family of SBS and wish all teachers and students a fruitful academic year ahead.
