The BSc in Biomedical Sciences Programme (BSc Programme) Team participated in or organized various activities between May and August 2020, including:

• CUHK Thematic Talk for International Undergraduate Admissions - Biomedical Sciences: from Precision Medicine to Personalized Healthcare on 7 May 2020: The talk with programme consultation were conducted by Dr. Ann S.N. Lau, Programme Director of BSc in Biomedical Sciences, followed by a sharing by our BSc student, Miss Zhamilya Zhirenova. This was one of the online outreach activities organized by the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA), CUHK to enable international students to gain more understanding in our BSc Programme.
• Programme Exploration Day for JUPAS Applicants on 28 May 2020: This is an annual event organized by OAFA, CUHK. 49 JUPAS applicants who had selected the BSc Programme in their applications were arranged to join an online admission talk and programme consultation sessions delivered by Dr. Ann Lau.
• Programme Taster Fair for Secondary School Students on 11 July 2020: An online admission talk with programme consultation about the BSc Programme by Dr. Ann Lau were conducted for 92 senior secondary school students, who were the participants of the Programme Taster Fair organized by OAFA. Prof. Linda S. Gu, and Prof. Vincent C.K. Cheung, as well as Prof. Ellis K.L Fok of our School also took part by sharing their career paths and delivering mini lectures, along with experience sharing by our BSc students. The participants gained a better understanding of our programme features and career prospects.
• International University Fair - Central & South Asia on 24 August 2020: The University was invited by the Council of International Schools to participate their online International University Fair, during which Dr. Ann Lau gave a thematic talk on Biomedical Sciences to students from all over the world.
• Academic Counselling Session for New Full-time Undergraduate Students on 25 August 2020: Newly admitted undergraduate students attended the online counselling session arranged by the BSc Programme Team. Course selection, exemption issues and other related student information were introduced. Sharing and breakout sessions were also arranged to enable the new and current students to mingle with each other.
• Orientation activities for Freshmen organized by the Society of Biomedical Sciences on 27 to 28 August 2020: In order to help the freshmen of BSc in Biomedical Sciences Programme adapt to university life and get to know with their fellow classmates and senior students, an information session with interactive activity were organized by the Organizing Committee of Orientation Camp, Biomazevo.
• Summer Undergraduate Biomedical Research Attachment (SUBRA) 2020 between June and August 2020: Through this 8-week in-house program, our BSc Programme students were enabled to experience biomedical research in a practical environment so as to acquire various laboratory techniques and develop their potential. With the support of 14 SBS principal investigators who served as the research mentors, a total of 19 Year 1 students and 1 Year 2 students participated in this research attachment.
