Capstone Research Project Presentation Day

The Capstone Research Project Presentation Day of BSc in Biomedical Sciences Programme (BSc Programme) was successfully held on 16 April 2021 in a hybrid mode. 14 final year students of Programme and their research mentors, 4 panel assessors and 55 School members participated in this event. During the event, the 14 students presented their research discoveries, followed by a Q&A session. The panel assessors, including Prof. Woody W.Y Chan, Associate Director (Graduate Education) of SBS; Prof. Fung Kwok-pui, Emeritus Professor of SBS and former Director of BSc Programme; Prof. Wang Chi-chiu, Head of Division of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, CUHK; and Prof. Leung Yun-chung, Director of University Research Facilities in Life Sciences, and Director of Lo Ka Chung Research Centre for Natural Anti-Cancer Drug Development, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, shared their experience in research career development and provided advice to students after the student presentations. Finally, Mr. Sun Tsz-shing under the mentorship of Prof. Lee Tin-lap won the Best Presentation Award. Congratulations to the Mr. Sun for his remarkable presentation and research work.

Capstone Research Project is the Experiential Learning requirement of BSc Programme students who opted for “Biomedical Research” as their Concentration Area in senior year of studies. Students are required to conduct a research project under the supervision of a Principal Investigator of the School for a year and present their research findings on the Project Presentation Day. We hope that this Capstone Research Project can strengthen the research ability of BSc students and enhance the academic bondage among undergraduate students, teaching and research staff members.
