HKPFS applicants must complete both the online application form and the mandatory HKPFS supplement (Part A to H). Referees’ reports must be submitted via the online platform. Documents Required of Online Application System for Postgraduate Programmes – CUHK Graduate School | Postgraduate Admissions
Applicants who obtained degrees from universities in Mainland China are required to provide a valid Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate (教育部學歷證書電子註冊備案表) and a valid Online Verification Report of Higher Education Degree Certificate (中國高等教育學位在線驗證報告) issued by the CHESICC (學信網) together with their degree certificate and graduation certificate.
Applicants with a Chinese name MUST input your C.C. code from their Hong Kong identity card (if applicable) or ensure that their Chinese name matches their passport/ID card in the online application form. After submission, you may not be able to change your Chinese name.
CUHK offers Postgraduate Studentships (PGS) for up to 2 years to all full-time MPhil students and for up to 4 years to all full-time PhD students. The PGS for 2024-25 is HK$18,725 (approx. US$2,402) per month. Additionally, various scholarships and funding schemes are available to support full-time MPhil and PhD students to conduct overseas academic activities, such as presenting papers at international conferences, conducting field trips and engaging in data collection projects.
