Prof. Hiroshi Kawamoto and Prof. Takahiro Ito from the Institute for Life and Medical Sciences, Kyoto University visited the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) and held seminars on 6 and 7 November 2023.

“Regeneration of cytotoxic T lymphocytes from iPS cells: Development of “off-the-shelf T cells” for cell therapy targeting cancer and viral infection” was presented by Prof Hiroshi Kawamoto on 6 November 2023. On 7 November 2023, Prof. Takahiro Ito gave a lecture entitled “Metabolic regulation of stem cell fates in cancer” and presented his research. Both seminars were well received by the participants. The professors were also given a tour of the core laboratories before leaving.

We hope that this latest visit will lay the foundations for both institutions to explore future opportunities for collaboration in teaching and research.
