Co-organized by the Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and Monash University (Monash), Australia, and co-chaired by Prof. Andrew M. Chan, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS), CUHK and Prof. Nellie Georgiou-Karistianis, Deputy Dean, Academic and Graduate Affairs, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University, the 2021 Monash-CUHK PhD Exchange Virtual Symposium was successfully held online on 28 September 2021.
During the event, Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor/President of CUHK delivered an opening remarks, followed with presentations on different collaborative research projects by the ten participating Ph.D. students co-supervised by Principal Investigators from SBS, the Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM) of CUHK, other clinical departments of CUHK, and Monash. Subsequently, scientists from both institutions participated in discussion sessions and talks, and exchanged research ideas with peers in the fields of stem cell and regenerative medicine, cardiovascular and diabetes.
Our School took part in the mutual visits and joint symposiums to maintain close linkage with Monash since 2016. We hope this ongoing synergistic collaborations can facilitate the development of high impact research and innovative medical education.
