Members of the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) participated in the 5th Academic Committee Meeting of the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory for Regenerative Medicine (The Chinese University of Hong Kong – Jinan University) (the MOE Key Laboratory) on 11 November 2020.
Led by Prof. Chan Wai-Yee, Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Vice-President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Prof. Wan Chao, Prof. Albert H.H. Cheung, Prof. Chan Hon-fai, Prof. Elmer D.F. Ker, and Prof. Miu Kai-kei of SBS attended the meeting online. Prof. Huang Yadong, Dean of College of Life Science and Technology, Jinan University, gave a welcome address at the beginning of the meeting. Prof. Cai Dongqing had a report on the development and progress of the MOE Key Laboratory. Afterwards, Prof. Wan Chao, Prof. Albert Cheung and colleagues from Jinan University presented their latest findings related with the key research areas as identified by the Key Laboratory. Following the progress reports and scientific seminars, Academic Committee members provided constructive comments and suggestions on the further development and future evaluation of the Key Laboratory.
Prof. Chan Wai-yee and Prof Hong An, Vice President of Jinan University gave the closing remarks, which encouraged members to put more efforts to facilitate the research outputs of the Key Laboratory and contribute further to the development of education and R&D (Research and development) in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area.
