Dr. Du Zhanyuan, Vice-Minister of The Ministry of Education of China (MOE), led a delegation to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong on 19 May 2011. Apart from meeting with the senior management of the University, Dr. Du and the delegates were arranged to visit the respective MOE Key Laboratories at the CUHK, including the MOE Key CUHK-Jinan University Joint Laboratories for Regenerative Medicine housed at the School of Biomedical Sciences.
During their visit to our School, Dr. Du and the delegates met with Prof. Wai-Yee Chan, Director of SBS; Prof. Kenneth Lee, Associate Director of the MOE Key CUHK-Jinan University Joint Laboratories for Regenerative Medicine; Prof. Bo Feng, Prof. Kingston Mak and Prof. Chao Wan, members of the Stem Cell and Regeneration Program as well as Prof. Yin Xia and Prof. Hui Zhao, members of the Reproduction, Development and Endocrinology Program. After the meeting, the delegates were led to visit to the MOE Key CUHK-Jinan University Joint Laboratories for Regenerative Medicine, where Prof. Chao Wan presented an update of the progress of the Joint Laboratories. Afterwards, they had toured around the Core laboratories of our School.
Dr. Du was deeply impressed by the latest development of the MOE Key Joint Laboratories. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for both parties to share insights and to establish a closer academic links.
