Following the previous joint visit to the Ministry of Education (MOE) with Jinan University in late September 2013, another delegation led by Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) paid a follow-up visit to Jinan University (JNU) on 12 and 13 December 2013 and attended the Assessment Meeting of the CUHK-JNU MOE Key Laboratory for Regenerative Medicine (the Key Laboratory) conducted by a team of experts appointed by the MOE.
The delegation comprised academic members from the School of Biomedical Sciences, including Prof. Chan Wai-yee, School Director, Prof. Kenneth K.H. Lee, Associate Director of the Key Laboratory, Prof. Wan Chao, Assistant Director of the Key Laboratory, Prof. Chan Hsiao-chang, Prof. Xia Yin and Prof. Zhao Hui. During the assessment meeting, members of the Key Laboratory presented their research work and the up-to-date development of this joint establishment to the expert team, followed by a tour to the research facilities of the Key Laboratory. The assessment was successful with positive feedback, and official operation approval was finally granted by the MOE.
The MOE's operation approval fully recognized the efforts made by the Key Laboratory members from both institutions since its establishment in 2007. It also laid down a solid foundation for undertaking greater and ambitious collaborations in regenerative medicine between the two parties.
