A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Guangzhou Regenerative Medicine and Health Guangdong Laboratory (GDL) on 10 June 2019 at the Third Guangzhou International Biological Forum. This MoU aims to establish the CUHK-GDL Advanced Institute for Regenerative Medicine to build a research team with world-class expertise in stem cell research and regenerative medicine, which will play an important role in the development of technological innovation centre in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area. It also serves as a platform to train and educate the next generation of talents in the focused area through joint supervision of PhD students. Under this collaborative initiative, the Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM) will serve as the champion unit, whereas the School of Biomedical Sciences will take part in the PhD joint supervision.
