The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Shandong University (SDU) signed a collaboration agreement in online and in-person modes on 8 September 2021.
Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor/President of CUHK and Prof. Fan Liming, President of Shandong University signed the agreement on behalf of both universities. The participants from CUHK taking part in the ceremony comprised Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Vice-President and Li Ka Shing Professor of Biomedical Sciences; Prof. Tang Xiao-bing, Dean of Faculty of Arts; Prof. Andrew M. Chan, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS); Prof. Ho Che-wah, Associate Director of Institute of Chinese Studies and Director of D.C. Lau Research Centre for Chinese Ancient Texts; Ms. Wing Wong, Director of China Engagement; and Dr. Lu Gang, Senior Research Fellow of SBS and Project Consultant of Office of Strategic Developments, etc.
The representatives of SDU included Prof. Chen Zijiang, Chinese Academy of Sciences Academician; Prof. Liu Qiji, Associate Dean of Cheeloo College of Medicine; and Prof. Zhou Chuanjian, Head of Department of Science and Technology Management, etc.
SBS has closely collaborated with SDU, including the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and establishment of CUHK-SDU Joint Laboratory on Reproductive Genetics in 2013, as well as follow-up academic exchange in subsequent years. It is hoped that the signing of collaboration agreement can further bolster interdisciplinary academic and research collaborations among CUHK and SDU.
