Representatives of Cornell University, U.S.A. including Prof. Mike Kotlikoff, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Prof. Alfonso Torres, Associate Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, together with representatives of the City University of Hong Kong including Prof. Arthur Ellis, Provost, Prof. Gregory Raupp, Vice-President (Research & Technology), Prof. Julia Tao, Chief-of-Staff, Prof. William Ho, Senior Consultant and Dr. Annie Li, Visiting Fellow, visited the School of Biomedical Sciences on 10 October 2011.
Prof. Wai-Yee Chan, Director of the School and Prof. Kenneth Lee, Managing Director of the Core Laboratories greeted the visitors. After hearing a presentation highlighting the latest development of the various areas of the School by Professor Wai-Yee Chan, the visitors were guided by Prof. Kenneth Lee and Prof. S.O. Chan to tour the Core Laboratories and the Dissecting Laboratory, respectively. The guests were then arranged to visit the Laboratory Animal Services Centre (LASEC).
This visit laid down a good foundation for establishing academic collaborations among the three institutions.
