Led by Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Vice-President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Li Ka Shing Professor of Biomedical Sciences, a delegation comprising Prof. Wan Chao, Prof Zhao Hui, Prof. Jiang Xiaohua, Prof. Albert H.H. Cheung, Prof. Elmer D.F. Ker, Prof. Chan Hon-fai, Prof. Linda S. Gu, and Prof. Megan Y.P. Ho from CUHK Department of Biomedical Engineering, Prof. Xia Jiang from CUHK Department of Chemistry, as well as postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellows and research staff participated in the 2020 Guangdong-Hong Kong Postgraduate Research Exchange and Symposium on Regenerative Medicine on 18 November 2020. The year, it was conducted in online and offline format at CUHK and Jinan University, Guangzhou. More than 210 participants from CUHK and Jinan University joined the event.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Education (MOE) Key Laboratory for Regenerative Medicine, with the support of the MOE Ten Thousand Student Interflow Programme 2020, Jinan University and CUHK. It aimed at promoting academic exchange among postgraduate students pursuing their studies in various fields of regenerative medicine.
During the Symposium, 8 postgraduate students from SBS were invited to give oral presentations on their research topics, and participated in poster presentation sessions to compete for prizes with students from Jinan University. With their exceptional performance, 2 of the postgraduate students won oral presentation prize and another 4 won poster presentation and exhibition prizes.
