The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Fudan University (FDU) jointly held an online meeting on 25 April 2022, with opening remarks delivered by Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK and Prof. Jin Li, President of FDU
Several members from the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS), including Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Vice-President and Li Ka Shing Professor of Biomedical Sciences, CUHK; Prof. Sham Mai-har, Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Vice-President and Choh-Ming Li Professor of Biomedical Sciences; Prof. Andrew M. Chan, Director of SBS, Prof. Vincent C.K. Cheung, Associate Professor; and Prof. Shen Gu, Assistant Professor also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the progress, achievements and the way forward of the different collaborative projects initiated by the two institutions were addressed, including the CUHK and Fudan University Joint Research Centre in Life and Biomedical Sciences which was established in June 2021.
The CUHK Strategic Plan 2021-2025 sets out four key strategic areas in Research and Innovation, including Innovative Biomedicine. It is our hope that the participation of our School members in the collaboration among CUHK and FDU can facilitate deeper development in the interdisciplinary education and research cooperation among the two institutions.
