A 18-members delegation led by Prof. Jiang Wei from State Key Laboratory of Molecular Oncology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (State Key Lab) visited the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) on 5-6 Jun 2014. At the invitation of our Cancer and Inflammation Thematic Research Program (TRP), the delegates joined the School of Biomedical Sciences Research Day 2014 cum Cancer and Inflammation Symposium 2014 held on 5 June 2014 and exchanged with our members and other participants their research experience and findings during the event.
In fact, our Cancer and Inflammation TRP members have established collaborative relationship with the State Key Lab since years ago. In 2012, the State Key Lab sent a delegation to join the SBS Research Day 2012 cum Cancer and Inflammation 2012 Symposium and mutual visits were made between the two parties since then. During the State Key Lab's latest visit, Prof. Wai-yee Chan, Director of SBS, signed on behalf of the School a Memorandum of Understanding on collaboration with the State Key Lab on 6 June 2014 to further strengthen the ties and linkage in research aspects between the two parties. The signing of the MOU not only marks the formalization of the long term partnership with the State Key Lab, but also encourages more cooperation in research and academic activities between the members of the two parties.
