The 1st LKCMedicine – CUHK Workshop on Neuroscience was successfully held on 26 February 2024 at Clinical Sciences Building, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore). This event was co-organized by Prof. Jacque P.K. Ip, Assistant Professor, School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS), CUHK, and sponsored by the Gerald Choa Neuroscience Institute (GCNI).
The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Joseph Sung, Dean of LKCMedicine and Senior Vice President (Health & Life Sciences) of NTU Singapore, followed by opening remarks from Prof. Bruce Ransom, Professor of SBS and Director of GCNI, CUHK, and Prof. Lim Kah Leong, Associate Vice President (Biomedical & Life Sciences) LKCMedicine, President's Chair in Translational Neuroscience.
Members of the SBS, including Prof. Bruce Ransom, Prof. Jacque P.K. Ip, Prof. Vincent C.K. Cheung and Mr. Haoyu Xu (PhD student) attended the event and shared their research findings and experiences in the fields of molecular, systems and translational neuroscience. They also had an in-depth and positive discussion with the representatives of LKCMedicine on pursuing academic and research collaboration between the two universities and regions in the near future.
