8th Cross-Strait Symposium on Biomedical Sciences cum SBS Postgraduate Research Day 2023 Date : 2023-11-09 - 2023-11-10 Details : The SBS Postgraduate Research Day was successfully held on 9 – 10 November 2023 at Hong Kong Science Park in conjunction with the 8th Cross-Strait Symposium on Biomedical Sciences, with the concerted efforts of the Organizing Committee of the SBS Postgraduate Research Day 2023, the SBS Postgraduate Student Association and the Graduate Education Office. We were excited to welcome over 250 participants, including esteemed professors and students from the Kunming Institute of Zoology, Peking University, and National Tsing Hua University (Taiwan). The two-day event provided an exceptional platform for knowledge exchange and networking, and our postgraduate students took this opportunity to not only showcase their research achievements, but also engage peers and researchers from various institutions. Furthermore, this event served as a valuable opportunity for students to refine their other attributes such as leadership, communication, organization, and social skills. We received a total of 77 posters representing research from three Thematic Research Programs. Additionally, we received 18 posters from three guest institutions. These posters were displayed on the first day of the event. From these submissions, the top 13 presenters with the best performance were invited to give a 10-minute oral presentation on the second day to compete for various prizes. Furthermore, online voting was conducted to select the top 10 most popular posters based on aesthetics and design. The awardees are as follows:
We congratulate all the prize winners for their outstanding presentations and exemplary research work. This event further strengthened the academic exchange and fostered stronger connections among postgraduate students, faculties, and research staff members. The School will continue to strive to enhance postgraduate education and seek diverse academic exchange opportunities for our students, nurturing their growth and broadening their academic horizons.
