Prof. Huang Yu, Professor of our School, successfully secured a total of $7.7 million from the Research Grants Council (RGC) Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) 2012-13 in his capacity of Principal Coordinator for a project titled "Physical Exercise Promotes Vascular Health: Impact of Mechano-Transduction and Novel Endothelium-derived Regulators". Collaborated among The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and The University of Hong Kong (HKU), the said project led by Prof. Huang has accounted for 20% out of the five proposals with CUHK being the coordinating institution that are funded under the RGC CRF 2012-13.

Prof. Huang is now the Chief of the Vascular and Metabolic Biology Program in our School. The grants he obtained demonstrates not only his commitment and continued hard-work in research, but also our concerted efforts in promoting scientific collaboration with other local institutions.
