Prof. Christopher H.K. Cheng has recently been appointed by the Secretary for the Environment as a member of the Expert Group under the Genetically Modified Organisms (Control of Release) Ordinance for a period of two years with effect from 20 June 2013. The appointment recognizes not only Prof. Cheng's professional know-how on the issue but also our School member's commitment to community services.

Prof. Cheng is now the Associate Director (Undergraduate Education) of our School. He is also the Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Biotechnology.
