Prof. Huang Yu, Associate Director (Research) of the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS), together with his research team members including Prof. Tian Xiaoyu, Assistant Professor of SBS, and Prof. Chen Zhenyu and Prof. Jack W. T. Wong of the School of Life Sciences, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), have recently won the Second-class award in the 2017 State Natural Sciences Award for a collaborative research project with Peking University Health Science Centre and Hebei Medical University entitled "Molecular Mechanism and Novel Therapeutic Targets in Treating Endothelial Dysfunction of Metabolic Syndrome”. The award presentation ceremony was held on 14 April 2018 on CUHK campus. Mr. Chen Baosheng, Minister of Education of the People’s Republic of China, presented the awards during his visit to CUHK on the same day.

The Natural Sciences Award, an award under the Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Awards (Science and Technology), honours researchers who have made discoveries in natural science and applied science, or given explanations to natural phenomena and characteristics. It is set up by the State Ministry of Education to recognise outstanding research projects at all tertiary institutions in mainland China, including those in Hong Kong since 2009.

We sincerely congratulate Prof. Huang and Prof. Tian on their remarkable accomplishments and wish them continued success in their research endeavors in the future.
