A 40-member delegation (including postgraduate students) led by Prof. Zheng Wenjie, Dean of Graduate College, Jinan University visited the School of Biomedical Sciences and the MOE Key Laboratory for Regenerative Medicine (The Chinese University of Hong Kong - Jinan University) on 26 April 2012. Accompanied by Ms. Gu Weifang, Director of Student Affairs Office of the Graduate School and Prof. Cai Dongqing, Director of the MOE Key Laboratory, Prof. Zheng had a meeting with Prof. Chan Wai-Yee, School Director, Prof. Kenneth Lee, Associate Director of the MOE Key Laboratory and Prof. Wan Chao to update both parties on the latest research developments and to explore the possibilities of establishing graduate student partnership programme under the MOE Key Laboratory. After the meeting, the delegates were arranged to visit the MOE Key Laboratory and other core laboratories of the School.
Indeed, with the establishment of the MOE Key Laboratory, our School has been in close contact and coordination with Jinan University and other relevant parties like the Ministry of Education, China (see the previous events held on 7 November 2011, 19 May 2011, 14 December 2010 and 8 September 2010). This visit not only further enhanced the mutual understanding of both institutions, but most importantly consolidated the foundation for more concrete development in terms of collaborative training of postgraduate students.
