The first School of Biomedical Sciences Research Day was held on 15 June 2010 at Mong Man Wai Building, CUHK. The opening of the meeting was officiated by the Dean, Prof. T.F. Fok and the Director of the School, Prof. W.Y. Chan. This was well attended by more than 250 participants including those from the School and members from the clinical departments and also guests from the Hong Kong University of Sciences and Technology and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

There were 12 scientific sessions scheduled according to the research focuses of the five research themes in the School, namely Cancer & Inflammation, Neuro-degeneration, -Development & Repair, Reproduction Development & Endocrinology, Stem Cell & Regeneration and Vascular & Metabolic Biology. Over 30 RGC-funded projects in the School were also displayed in the poster session. At the end of the School Research Day, there were also theme-based discussions between our principal investigators and associate members on the coming RGC-GRF submissions for 2011-12. The meeting was well received by the participants as reflected by the full participation and active/fruitful discussions during the whole event.
