Date : 2010-08-09
Details :

A one-day seminar on “Intellectual Property (IP) Protection and Commercialization of Research Outputs” was co-organized by the Knowledge Transfer Unit (KTU) and School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) on 9 August 2010 at Room 202AB, Choh-Ming Li Basic Medical Sciences Building, CUHK. A total of 50 staff and students joined the event.

The seminar focused on IP protection and commercialization, specific cross-border IP perspectives as well as different practices being adopted in China, US and Europe. A group of local and overseas patent lawyers, including Dr. Albert Wai-Kit Chan, Mr. Jack W. Chung, Ms. Patricia S. Lecca, and Mr. Robert D. Katz shared with participants their experience and insights on these issues. The rundown of the seminar and the corresponding presentation files are available at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/kto/news/20100809/ .

Taking part in this seminar has enriched our School members’ awareness and knowledge not only essential for handling IP-related issues but also for promoting closer partnership and research collaboration with the private and industrial sectors in the long run.
