Coordinated by the Communications and Public Relations Office (CPRO) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), a group of heads from 19 local printed, electronic and online media paid a visit to the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) on 18 Jul 2018.

Upon arrival, the media heads were warmly received by Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Director of SBS, together with the Associate Directors of the School. Prof. Chan gave a brief introduction of the School to the visitors, and guided them to tour the Core Laboratories. After the visit at SBS, the media heads were arranged to visit the CUHK T Stone Robotics Institute, which was followed by a luncheon hosted by Prof. Rock S. Tuan, CUHK’s Vice-Chancellor/President, with the attendance of the senior management of CUHK. During the lunch, they exchanged views on the University’s upcoming plans and topics relating to innovation and technology, the Greater Bay Area strategy as well as knowledge transfer.

With the increasing attention to the development of innovation and technology in Hong Kong, it is a good opportunity to showcase and publicize CUHK’s development and achievement in the research of biomedical sciences. We hope that our participation in the visit will support CUHK to build a stronger network with the media and enhance the image and profile of CUHK.

With subsequent coordination of the CPRO, our School participated in the following media visits and interviews in August 2018 to showcase our academic achievements, and advanced laboratory facilities and technologies, in the hope of further promoting CUHK’s latest development in innovation and technology.
